GRAND NOIR
Draped in a distinctive black wax, the extraordinary GRAND NOIR is dressed for your next fine affair. GRAND NOIR is carefully dipped in black wax and then aged at cool temperatures to develop a luscious and creamy texture and delightfully bold blue notes. This silky blue cheese has an elegance all its own.
Like all of our cheeses, GRAND NOIR is free from additives and preservatives, including natamycin, an additive that prohibits mold growth on blue cheeses that has raised health concerns. That’s why under GRAND NOIR’s wax exterior you may find blue or grey mold – this is a natural development and adds to the stronger blue character of the cheese.
What to expect:
Black wax rind (food safe, but not edible). Creamy yellow-white semi-soft cheese with even striations of blue mold throughout.
PAIRINGS: Pair it with a bold red wine or champagne. Serve it at room temperature with crackers, baguette, candied ginger, dried fruits, or sweet & spicy jams. Dice into salads, slice over potatoes or steak or pair with rich chocolate for dessert.
